Message from the Workshop Chairs

Welcome to the First International Workshop on "Wireless mesh: moving towards applications", co-located with QShine 2006 in Waterloo, Canada. This year, we received in total 18 submissions, out of which 9 papers have been accepted (an acceptance rate of 50%).

The review process was organized in the following way. Each full paper was assigned to three Program Committee members to review. For all papers we received at minimum 2 reviews. Some borderline papers have been assigned to the workshop co-chairs for shorter, skim reviews. The chairs discussed all the reviews and eventually selected 9 papers for inclusion in the proceedings. Each technical session is opened by an invited paper written by world-wide specialists.

The workshop program features also one key note talk.

The success of any conference or workshop relies on a strong team and WiMeshNets is a very good example. We would like to thank everyone on the organizing committee, especially the program committee, for their hard work and their high quality reviews in short time. Finally, we would like to thank the WiMeshNets community for entrusting their work to us.
